Description of bug: Arguments is the name of the array holding the arguments of a UDF when inside the UDF. However us you try to use Arguments as a varibale name OUTSIDE of a UDF an unknown exception is thrown. I found this problem in a legacy website that started to generate an unknown exception (no line number or any hint as to what caused the problem) after upgrading to CF5. For example... This does not work... <CFSET Arguments = "TotalPrice=295&HoID=#FORM.HoID#&HoName=#URLEncodedFormat(FORM.HoName)#&HoHosts=#URLEncodedFormat(FORM.HoHosts)#&HoEmail=#URLEncodedFormat(FORM.HoEmail)#"> while this one does... <CFSET Argies = "TotalPrice=295&HoID=#FORM.HoID#&HoName=#URLEncodedFormat(FORM.HoName)#&HoHosts=#URLEncodedFormat(FORM.HoHosts)#&HoEmail=#URLEncodedFormat(FORM.HoEmail)#">

Comments: It is perhaps acceptable that this would create an error as Arguments has become a reserved word however it should NOT create an unknown exception as that is not helpful.

C O M M E N T S Comment display is being revamped. We apologize for the delay. Comment   [Philip Arnold]   [ ] Arguements is a Scope outside of a UDF, rather like Request, URL, Form, Application, Client etc. Of course it will throw an error - you are trying to set a complete scope to be a variable
